I often find myself needing something extra for the kids in Sunday school to do. Sometimes kids come early and need an activity to do to keep them busy or sometimes the story is a bit shorter than I anticipated.

There have been times I have made games up on the spot while other times I have the kids read over bible verses we have printed on the wall. At Christmas time, it can be fun to have an extra activity especially designed for the holiday season.

Sign up to the right to get FREE Sunday school material!

The word search below was made with the "First Christmas" in mind along with making sure Sunday school teachers have what they need to keep the kids learning about our Lord Jesus Christ.

The First Christmas Word Search Puzzle

If you print this out and run out of time, send it home with the kids to do. You could even tell the kids to work on it with their parents or siblings. As they do the puzzle together, tell the kids to talk about what each word they are searching for has to do with the First Christmas.

You can also do this in class together. Reinforcing your Sunday school lesson and the Word of God helps children all parts of the story better.

Jacob was always into something in the bible and there were many, many things written about him. God lets us follow Jacob from birth till death and we see all of his good and bad qualities through each and every verse.

In the Jacob Falls in Love bible story, Jacob is tricked into marrying the wrong girl, then finds himself with two wives! Below is a FREE word search puzzle to go along with the story of Jacob falling in love with Rachel only to find himself married to her sister Leah.

Jacob was always into something when he was a young man. First, he tricked his brother. Then, he tricked his father. Now, he is on a journey to find himself a wife in a different country because he is afraid that his brother may kill him if he stays.

While that sounds a lot like a 'Soap Opera', it is just one of the true bible stories we can tell our Sunday school class.

We've made this word search puzzle to go along with the Sunday school lesson of Jacob's Ladder. After you've taught your class about Jacob and his famous ladder, you can use this word search puzzle to fill in time or talk about what they've learned. You may also have extra time on your hands or have kids who love crafts. If that is the case, think about making your own Jacob's Ladder craft!

Crossword puzzles are a fun way to give the Sunday school kids something extra to take home or to use as an added time filler during class. Below is a puzzle we simply titled 'Prayer' crossword puzzle. It can be used with many of our Sundays school lessons, or with the Daily Prayer Sunday school lesson.

Daily prayer is an important part of every Christian's life. Stress the importance of taking time to talk to God aside from thanking him before meals and before bed. God is there waiting on us. We are the ones who are too busy to talk to him.

You can do several different things when teaching the Sunday school lesson about the Tower of Babel, but for kids 7 years old and above, let them do a quick word search.

Use this word search either before the Sunday school lesson to get the kids thinking about how the words tie into the bible story or give it to them after to reinforce what you've just taught. Some teachers even like to send the papers home with the kids so the kids will have something to do on the ride home.

I've found that with the kids in our Sunday school class, if they don't do the puzzles in class, the papers sometimes don't even make it home. But, if the kids work on them in class, they can't wait to show them to their parents.

Every church is different as is every Sunday school class. Choose what's best for your kids and enjoy this FREE Sunday school activity.

And like I've said before - adults love word searches too (hint! hint!).

Having an extra Sunday school activity for kids to do is always a blessing as sometimes the lesson isn't as long as you first had thought. Too much down time allows the kids to become restless and loud.

That's exactly what happens in our Sunday school class and I'm sure it happens in yours too. The good news is that when you print out FREE Sunday school activities like the crossword puzzle below, you're not out any money and if you run out of time, you can always send the puzzle home with them as a reminder of the lesson they just heard.

This crossword puzzle was designed to go along with The Good Samaritan Sunday school lesson.

We hope you find this activity helpful. Be sure to check out our other Sunday school activities as they are being added continuously and will be until God sees fit otherwise.

Daniel and the lion's den is one of the most famous bible stories of all time. Actually, I don't have proof of that. I just know that when I was little it was one of the bible stories we were told over and over again. And, I have used it in my Sunday school class several times over the past year.

The kids love it because it is different, it has danger and it has miracles!

If you'd like to teach a lesson on the bible story of Daniel, check out our Sunday school lesson titled, "Daniel and the Lion's Den". (Now, isn't that an original title?)

To go along with the lesson, we've made up a crossword puzzle for you to use.

If you'd like, print some extras up for the adult Sunday school class. They can work on it before class starts or take it home as a fun activity.

Use this Easter Sunday School activity for your class. If you have a young class, let all the kids work on a single puzzle instead of giving each child one of their own. You can also use this for an adult Sunday School class. Have the papers laid out on their seats before class starts and be sure they have a pen or a pencil. Adults love puzzles too.
