Here is a cross between an activity and a coloring page. As you can see, on the left the kids can color the letters and the lion and on the right, the kids can work the maze.

In our Sunday school class, we have kids who like to color and others who do not like it at all.

So, to help please everyone, we've come up with a two-for-one. Well, sort of.

The good news is that instead of having to print out two different sheets, you only have to print the one. You can choose to give everyone a whole sheet or cut the sheet in half and let the kids choose which they'd like to do. Of course, you could give half the page to the kids to color as they arrive and the other half after you tell the story. It's completely up to you.

Get the Samson and the Lion Sunday school lesson to go along with the activity/coloring page below!

Here is a Sunday school coloring page you can use as a quick, easy and fun craft for younger kids. All you need to do is print out the coloring sheet below and have a few other items ready for the kids to use.

The coloring page below is basic and simple on purpose. It is designed to let the kids express their creativity!

Get the FREE Joshua Sunday school lesson!

    First Sunday School Craft Idea

If you have smaller kids, go ahead and cut out the rocks as a whole below. There is no need to cut the rocks out separately.

If your kids are old enough to cut themselves, let them color Joshua's memorial rocks below first. Then, let them cut them out and paste them to a colored piece of construction paper.

Have the kids cut out the words at the top and paste it on the construction paper.

    Second Sunday School Craft Idea

Another option is a bit messy, but is sure is fun! If it is warm outside, you may want to do this craft outside!

You will need to have the kids cut out the rocks and glue them to the construction paper. Next, have the kids put glue on one rock at a time. Have colored sand ready for the kids to sprinkle onto the glue making different colored 'sandy' rocks!

See idea number three down the page!

    Third Sunday School Craft Idea

Follow the first part of the craft above, except have tissue paper or small cut up colored paper for the kids to glue onto the rocks instead.

Jesus' parable about 'one lost sheep' explains that when one person is lost, he needs to be found. While the parable is using an earthly story to explain the importance of leaving 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep, the heavenly meaning behind the parable is much deeper.

The deeper meaning is so that we can understand that when one lost person is brought to Christ, the heavens rejoice! Imagine playing a part in all of heaven rejoicing!

Each day, we go about our busy lives and think only about the tasks at hand.

As Sunday school teachers, we may think about getting our Sunday school lesson ready for the following week or maybe even about what snacks we are going to serve.

    But, guess what.

These things aren't nearly as important as spreading God's word and looking for that one 'lost sheep' that God is waiting for to join his flock.

It is our job as Christians and as Sunday school teachers to go looking for that one 'lost sheep' and teach our class to do the same.

Below is a coloring sheet with the words "ONE LOST SHEEP' written on the side. Have the kids color the page and take it home.

Tell them to hang it somewhere they will be able to see it every day.

If they hang it on their door, they will be reminded to talk to someone about Jesus each day. If they hang in over their bed, they will be reminded to pray for someone each night.

Make sure to encourage them to move the sheep around the house to keep reminding them of their job for Christ - finding the lost and leading them to salvation!

    Sunday School Coloring Page

The Sunday school coloring page below can be colored and left as is or use your imagination and let them cut it out and paste it on a colorful sheet of paper. Maybe even let them add cotton balls to the sheep. If you don't mind a mess, let them use glitter!

Let the kids have fun as they will hopefully use it as a reminder for a long time to find the 'lost sheep'.

The love of God goes far beyond what we feel sitting in the church pew. God's love is all around us. It's in the wind that blows, the trees that grow, the flowers that bloom, the sun that warms us. God's love is endless and all we need to do is look around.

When talking about God's love with your Sunday school class, be sure to talk about all the things God made because he loves us.

Ask the kids to name some things God made.

    Wait for answers.

If no one says, "God made me!", be sure to talk about it. Go through the kids in your class and say each of their names (example: God loves Landon. God loves Summer. God loves Avery.)

You can then talk about God loves us so much that he sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins. He died so that one day we can go to heaven to live forever!

The Love of God Sunday School Coloring Page

You can use this as a plain coloring page or you can use it as a craft too. After the kids color the letters J-E-S-U-S, let them cut them out and glue them to construction paper. Have some confetti and tissue paper available for the kids to decorate the rest of the page.

When the kids are done, they can give it to someone special especially if it is on Valentine's Day.

    Easter Coloring Pages
Yes, I know that it is still January when this is being posted, but I can't stop thinking about Easter. For one, we have had zero degree weather and are expecting snow with more frigid temperatures.

I think not only am I looking forward to the warmer weather that Easter brings, I am also looking forward to that time in Sunday school where I get to share the good news - He isn't here. He is risen!!

    Praise God!!! Hallelujah!!!!

As you'll see in the Easter coloring page below, Jesus isn't hanging on the cross.

    Do you know why?

To put it simply - He isn't there.

How different would it have been if Jesus had remained on the cross?

I don't ever want to imagine that. Our heavenly Father above had a much better plan than that. What was it?

Jesus arose from the dead and lives today in heaven! For those who have asked Jesus to be their savior, they will also live forever in heaven!

I thank God that I am one of those who have asked Jesus to save me. I will never have to worry again what comes after death. I know - eternal life.

This Easter, spread the good news - He is Risen!!!

    Free Easter Coloring Pages

In this first coloring page, kids can color the letters of the bible verse, then cut out the letters and glue them onto a piece of colored construction paper. Pastel colors work nice. You may also want to use glue sticks so the glue will dry faster.

For smaller children, let them cut out each word while older kids can cut out each letter. This makes for a great craft the kids can take home and talk to their family about.

It is hard to tell in the picture below, but the verse is Matthew 28:6 which says, He is not here; for he is risen.

The Christmas story is one of the most important bible stories a child can learn right next to Jesus dying on the cross. While a lot of hype is focused on what toys kids want (and that part of it can be fun) for Christmas, we must remind and remind again that Jesus is the reason for the season.

=>=>=>Sign up to get FREE Sunday school stuff!=>=>=>

Without Jesus Christ, there would be no reason for living. Living a life without Christ is a life without a joyous ending. Those of us who know Jesus as our Lord and Savior know that when our work on earth is done, we have a home prepared for us in glory - praise God! It is our job to instill that same message inside our little ones whether they are one or 101 years old.

Below are some Sunday school coloring pages you can print off to use for your classes this holiday season.

The books of 1 and 2 Samuel are packed full of stories about the life of David. Of course, one of the most famous bible stories is that of David and Goliath.

It is a story that many children and adults know and love.

When I was very young, we had missionaries that attended our church. They were known as "The Crossons". They had one daughter, Joy, who was married to a wonderful man named Rick. Rick and Joy, along with her parents The Crossons, traveled from school to school spreading the Word of God to young children.

It was because of these four amazing Christians (and my parents) that I am who I am today.

During the time that I spent with our missionaries (whom I consider family), I learned the song 'Only a Boy Named David'. And since it was more than 30 years ago I learned this song, you can be sure it is an oldie, but a goodie!

After you teach your Sunday school class the song about David, let them color the picture below. I need to give credit to the Christian Unite website for the clipart of David and Goliath as I did not supply this one.

The book of Joshua is an amazing book of the bible. Even though many parts of it isn't widely taught for Sunday school lessons, most kids know the bible story and the song "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho".

Our kids love that song because we march in a circle holding hands and when it comes to the part about the 'walls come tumbling down', we all fall to the ground. I think the kids just like seeing us fall to the ground, but it works and it's fun!

The book of Deuteronomy continues with the children of Israel's journey to the promised land of Canaan. At the end of this book, Moses finally finishes what he started and the journey to the promised land has come to an end. In the last and final chapter of the book of Deuteronomy, Moses dies and the Lord God himself buried Moses.

Knowing the Lord buried Moses is a feeling that is hard to explain. Close your eyes and try to imagine that for a minute...

The bible tells us in chapter 34:6 KJV that no man to this day knows where Moses is buried. That means that no one will know no matter how hard they look because God doesn't want him to be found.

Sunday school coloring pages can not only be fun for the kids to enjoy, but can also be a teaching tool. This coloring page for example can be used to teach about the above story of Moses. We shouldn't go looking for things we aren't meant to find. Instead, we should only look toward the cross and to finding Jesus for ourselves and teaching others so they may find Jesus too.

Books of the Bible Sunday School Coloring Pages

Below is the book of Numbers coloring page. Just to give you a bit of back ground on the book of Numbers, I've added a little bit about the bible story.

The children of Israel moved from place to place living in tents for 40 long years. What they didn't know when they started their journey to the promised land was that it was only a few short days walk from where they were to where they were going.

Instead, they wandered around the wilderness. The sad part was that none of the people who left Egypt made it into Canaan. Only their children was allowed to cross over into the promised land. Moses wasn't even one of them.

Proverbs 3:5 is a verse kids and adults alike need to keep close to their hearts. It should be a verse that is automatically thought of when times are tough and when times are good.

Trusting in the Lord should be a daily practice for Christians. How can we, as teachers or parents, expect kids to trust in the Lord if they don't see us trusting?

No matter what life throws your way, 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding'. Teach this verse and learn it yourself. Keep it close.

Another way to help kids understand this is with prayer. Kids often pray for the things they want or the people they know, but do they pray for God to lead them and guide them?

We used this coloring sheet to go along with the King David Sunday school lesson.

    Coloring Pages

Here is just one of the coloring pages we have available for FREE on this blog. If you're looking for something different, just scroll through the pages to see what you can find.

The coloring page below can be used as a plain sheet for coloring or it can be folded in half to allow the kids to write on the inside. It can be folded the opposite way for the kids to draw on the outside whichever they prefer.

For older kids, have them write some of the things in their life they need to be trusting God to help them with. Have them keep it under their pillow as a reminder to trust God to lead their lives.

Have prayer with your class and ask God to lead each child they way he would want them to go.

The book of Leviticus is full of great information. One of the main things we think of when we think of  Leviticus is the tabernacle. God didn't leave us wondering what the tabernacle looked like. He gave us every single detail about each and every side, inside and out.

That's why we chose to use the tabernacle as our Leviticus coloring page. We hope you enjoy it.

While the serpent isn't one of my favorite things in the bible, it is still very important for the kids to understand how temptation can ruin their lives.

I've added this Sunday school coloring page of the serpent below because kids need to fully understand that Satan is everywhere and we need God to help us resist him.

You can use this coloring page from the Garden of Eden Sunday school lesson for each individual child or just print out one and use it with the Sunday school activity of  Adam and Eve.

The 10 Commandments are extremely important to teach young children. For some reason, many Sunday school teachers never teach their class the 10 Commandments. Why?

Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't know.

We start teaching our Sunday school class the 10 Commandments when they graduate into the primary class which includes ages 4 to 6. The commandments are hanging on the wall and are gone over at least every other week, but most of the time every single week.

As adults, we tend to get tired of hearing the same things over and over, but kids learn by repetition. Try it for yourself. Go over the 10 Commandments three weeks in a row. I bet the kids will already know some of them and can repeat them to you. After 4 or 5 weeks, you'll probably just have to give the first two words of the commandment and the kids will be able to finish each one.

While Commandment number six of the 10 Commandments used to not be one that was broken often, in today's world, tempers fly and anger gets hold of many people along with drugs and alcohol causing 'Thou shalt not kill' to become a commandment that needs discussion.

School shooting, drive by shootings, and other random shootings are becoming all too common. We need to take the time we have with our little Sunday School group and teach them that no matter how angry or upset we get, God is in control and we need only to pray.

We are to give our troubles to him and he will take care of them.

    1 Peter 5:7 KJV

7 Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.

    Romans 12: 19 KJV

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Why Is This Commandment So Hard to Obey?

Many people blame it on the times we live in. The world is bad, but we as teachers and parents need to teach our kids what's right and what's not. Believe me, even if the kids know what's right and what's not, they still seem to rather do what they want than what their parents tell them to do or any adult for that matter.

I've worked with kids for a long time and I've had to get after a few that were not my own. I have been shocked many times when a child looks me right in the eye, then goes right ahead and does what I've just told them not too.

Use the 10 Commandment coloring page below to help you teach your class to honor (not just obey) their father and mother. May God bless you as you teach God's word.

Here is the 10 Commandments coloring page for commandment number four. Commandment number four is a commandment that often gets broken.

    Why?

In today's world, businesses expect employees to work seven days a week. Sundays have become just another day to make a dollar or to catch up on work that couldn't be done the other six days. It is a sad time we are living in and there isn't much we can do about it.

Refuse to work and risk being fired. Where does that leave your family?

The only advice I can give you is that you need to pray and ask God what his will is in your life. You should also pray to find out how you should raise your children to honor this commandment in a world that refuses to acknowledge they mean anything.

As our 10 Commandment Sunday School lesson talked about, this commandment is one of the hardest to keep.

Teach your Sunday School class early to 'Keep the Lord's name special' so they will never use his name in vain. A great song to help teach this is the old Sunday School song O Be Careful Little Eyes. Sing this song several times during your 10 Commandment lessons to help reinforce God's word and his will for us.

Often, when kids are around other children, they will say things that they might not say in front of family. As a Sunday school teacher, you need to stress to the children that when they are around others, it is more important than ever to keep God's name holy to set an example for others.

The coloring page below will help remind them that when they are at school they should strive to be Christ-like even when having a bad day.

To help you teach the 10 Commandments, we wanted to make a coloring page for each one. Below is Commandment Two coloring page (Get Commandment One coloring page).

I added an entire Sunday School lesson for the 10 Commandments that can be used for any age children, as well. You can break it up into one commandment each week or five one week followed by five more then next. Of course, if you have older kids, you can teach all ten the same day. I hope you like what you find here at Sunday School Lessons of Plenty.

There is nothing greater than accepting Christ and living for Christ ourselves, then teaching children to do the same.
